IAO Core Live from Mosswood "The Rite of Venus" Part 7 of the Rites of E...

goddess incarnate: Serena Toxicat

I realized recently that I have manifested at a time and place in Herstory, where I am fortunate to know some of the most beautiful creatures ever to grace this funky planet. They are living proof of an artistic, loving, creative intelligence in the Metaverse, as random selection could never in billions of years create such beautiful expressions of itself... so as a new feature of Metaversal Venus, I bring you some of the best examples of the goddess incarnate.... Johannes Ayres, esq.

Serena Toxicat: is an Aquarian incarnation of Bast, Priestess of Isis, fronts the bands Protea, and Starchasm and as hard as it may be to believe, in person, frequently leaves me speechless....

Ms. Toxicat and reptile friend....

Serena brings sexy back! Seriously, the most beautiful combination of ink work I have ever seen....

Friday 11-22-13

Friday November 22 The Day of Venus in the week of active Air. If you actively invoke blessed HANIEL, the Archangel of Venus into your heart today, you may find you have developed the ability to feel like Khrisna, multiplying himself into a dozen pastoral, naked farmhands with muddy feet and emerald pond scum on their thighs, or maybe you are a young Freya on the back of a panther, eating honey. Venus usually sails through a sign in a month, but this transit in Capricorn is prolonged by her retrograde cycle. Venus turns retrograde on December 21 at 29 Capricorn and goes direct on Janaury 31 at 13 degrees. Venus, the planet of love, acceptance, pleasure and the arts, is now in earthy Capricorn. This is an interesting combination of soft and hard. Sweet Venus likes things the easy way, but Saturn-ruled Capricorn is about focus, commitment and effort. This is a time when love must be earned. Effort counts as much as heart, if you want to earn the approval of others. Relationships are built on shared goals and a willingness to work through the hard spots. Venus in Capricorn rewards maturity in relationships, helping to define problems and making a commitment to solve them. Although the days might be cooling off, our enthusiasm is firing up. We’re more optimistic about the future now that the radiant Sun is traveling through confident Sagittarius. We want to take care of those we love since the Moon is in nurturing Cancer, and her shift into generous Leo at 6:56 pm EST warms our hearts. Although good news may have us looking up, paying attention to feelings that lurk in the shadows further enriches our lives. Once the Moon enters Leo, it makes an immediate trine to the Sun, creating an almost giddy optimism. Laugh it up! Take as many pictures as you like. Feel free to speak candidly to those in hibernation – it won’t disturb them. Try out the suction pads! And if you’re going to be sick or have to tinkle ... well, we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it.

Venus in Sagittarius me please!

Venus, the planet of love and beauty, is off to adventure in experience-seeking Sagittarius. Lust for life and expansion of the boundaries of pleasure are supported now. Love is about expanding limits here. We may give up some of the comfortable patterns of the past and risk relationship safety for new levels of experience. Love needs to grow now; it will not stand still. Travel, learning and a taste for all that's foreign may be heightened. It's hard to stick to the old routine when the planet of pleasure hits the road. This desire for the new and exotic may reveal some weakness of judgment. Purchases are more likely made with joyful abandon rather than with an eye on long-term value. People, too, can be overrated, particularly if they offer the promise of adventure or enlightenment. Among those born with Venus in Sagittarius are spiritual teachers Sai Baba, Paramhansa Yogananda, Alan Watts, Albert Schweitzer and Deepak Chopra. Rockers David Bowie, Jimi Hendrix, Tina Turner and Pete Townsend have Venus in Sag, as do both Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel.

Kris Kuksi: Master of Fantastic Realism.

“A post-industrial Rococo master, Kris Kuksi obsessively arranges characters and architecture in asymmetric compositions with an exquisite sense of drama. Instead of stones and shells he uses screaming plastic soldiers, miniature engine blocks, towering spires and assorted debris to form his landscapes. The political, spiritual and material conflict within these shrines is enacted under the calm gaze of remote deities and august statuary. Kuksi manages to evoke, at once, a sanctum and a mausoleum for our suffocated spirit.” I can’t even explain how massively talented this sculptor is. If I ever got to go to an exhibit of his, I don’t think I would ever want to leave… Even his pencil drawings look like sculptures. You can browse through countless works at his site kuksi.com

Lucio Bubacco's Erotic Glassworks

Murano-based glassblower Lucio Bubacco creates delicate glass sculptures that turn the great Venetian tradition on its head, favoring orgiastic bacchanals and S&M scenarios as his not-so-dainty subject matter. Let's just say that having one of these bad boys as a centerpiece on your dining room table would be a conversation starter, to say the least. "Bubacco's fascination with anatomy, equine and human, lured him to push bit by bit beyond the perceived technical limits of his craft. His large free standing sculpture, worked hot and annealed during the process, is unique in lampworking made from flexible Murano soda glass canes, not less-breakable Pyrex. His pieces challenge our notion of lampwork as primarily decorative and whimsical, stressing as they do form and plasticity, rather than detailed elaboration and/or narrative content presented as a mini-installation."
